Satigny to La Plaine along the Allondon RiverThis walk from Satigny to La Plaine begins at Satigny train station, taking youthrough the Grands Bois de Satigny (Great Woods of Satigny) offering magnificent views of the Jura mountain range along the way. It follows the meandering course of the Allondon river through the Vallon de l'Allondon (Allondon Valley), an alluvial area of national importance as well asremarkable beauty.
Loëx Peninsula LoopThis circular walk follows the banks of the Rhône from Loëx Hospital, passing the Passerelle du Lignon, the Zone de Détente du Moulin, and the Passerelle des Chèvres, offering beautiful views of the river and surrounding woodland.
Laconnex to Soral LoopThis scenic countryside loop links the charming villages of Laconnex and Soral, passing through vineyards, open farmland, and quiet rural lanes. Highlights include sweeping countryside views, historic village architecture including Laconnex Castle, a beautiful 19th-century fountain and a sundial in Soral. Lancy to Perly along the River AireFrom the foothills of Mont Salève, the 11km river of the Aire traverses the town of Saint-Julien-en-Genevois in France, and the communes of Perly-Certoux, Onex, and Lancy in Geneva For most of this walk, you stroll along the banks of the river - parts of which have been canalled, parts of which have retained its natural course, and other parts of which flow underground. It is therefore a walk which allows you to observe the changing nature of the river from the beginning of the walk until the end.
Nant d’Avril and Satigny forestsStarting and ending at Satigny railway station, this peaceful loop walk follows the gentle flow of the Nant d’Avril (April Stream) beneath the shade of Satigny’s forests. The route passes alongside vineyards before once again entering woodlands and finally looping back to the station. This walk offers a perfect nature escape just a short train ride from Geneva.
Veyrier to Mont Salève (France) HikeA challenging yet rewarding climb combining nature, history, and spectacular views. Passing through forests, historic pathways, and the village of Monnetier-Mornex, the route offers a varied and scenic ascent before reaching the summit overlooking Lake Geneva and the surrounding mountains.
Versoix to Gouille Marion Nature Reserve (Vaud)Starting at the Versoix Sports Centre, this easy walk follows quiet paths toward the Gouille Marion Nature Reserve, gradually transitioning from open recreational spaces to a more secluded wetland habitat. Along the way, you’ll encounter woodland edges, a pond, and rich birdlife, making it a peaceful and varied route close to the city.
Pregny to ChambésyThis scenic walk takes you from the beautiful Jardin Botanique and Domaine de Penthes to the villages of Pregny and Chambésy. Thanks to the elevation of these villages, you will be delighted by the remarkable panoramic views over Lac Léman that are to be found along this route, as well as the deep, green hues of the fields you pass by and through. Stop by at the Ecrevisses nature reserve - a nice little discovery!
Russin to the Teppes de Verbois loopThis interesting loop walk takes you from Russin train station to the Teppes de Verbois, a nature reserve of 45 hectares, which also comprises several ponds. The site was historically exploited for its gravel until its redevelopment in 2001, but now it is a haven for a wide variety of vegetation and wildlife. The walk is mostly flat, though towards the end, a short hill climb back to the village of Russin may require a little effort.
Veyrier to les Iles d'Arve (FR) and Bout-du-MondeThis wonderful walk along the Arve river briefly enters into France territory. Starting from the beautiful village of Veyrier, you traverse the Swiss/French border to Les Iles d'Arve nature reserve which lies alongside the Arve river. You continue towards and past the hamlet of Sierne before meeting up once again with the Arve and following it until you reach Bout-du-Monde sports centre.
La Jonction to Loëx and BernexFrom city to countryside along the incredible river Rhône. Discover the hidden wonders of its riverbanks not long after starting your walk, then see where the river Rhône and river Arve meet at La Jonction. The contrasting colours of the waters are quite amazing! After crossing Pont Butin (Butin bridge), you will continue to follow the meanders of the enchanting river Rhône through Onex Forest and Chatillon Woods before arriving in Bernex where this walk ends.
