We started our walk at Genève-Sécheron station, stepping out onto Avenue de la Paix before crossing into the lush Jardin Botanique. We took our time wandering through the gardens, eventually exiting near the flamingo enclosure—a delightful highlight. From there, we joined Chemin de l’Impératrice and headed uphill, passing under the railway and by the Italian Mission before reaching the entrance to Domaine de Penthes. Inside, we followed the path up to the elegant Château de Penthes, then circled around and continued towards the Pavillon Gallatin, exiting near the Geneva School of Diplomacy. Crossing Route de Pregny, we took Chemin Palud and continued onto Chemin de Machéry, walking alongside open fields. Soon, we reached a panoramic viewpoint—perfect for a short break and soaking in the scenery. From there, we followed a winding path between fields and houses until it met Avenue de Tournay.

Sentier des Ecrevisses
A small sign pointed us down the “Sentier des Écrevisses,” which iswhere we turned right. The path then curved gently to the left and we noticed a stream running alongside us, eventually leading us to the peaceful Étang des Écrevisses (Écrevisses pond) tucked away in the woods. We wandered around the pond, crossed a little wooden bridge, then retraced our steps along the stream.Back on the main path, we continued past pump tracks and a skate park before rejoining Route de Pregny. Along the way, we passed the Mairie de Pregny-Chambésy (town hall) and the Church of Saint Petronilla. One final viewpoint offered another sweeping panorama before we followed the road downhill, now on Chemin de Chambésy, all the way to Chambésy train station—a satisfying end to a varied and scenic walk.
