Aire-la-VilleAire-la-Ville was first part of the domain of the Count of Geneva, then of the House of Savoy.
It was a Bernese bailiwick from 1536 to 1567, and in 1589 the Genevans took the nearby Castle of Ternier.
After the Treaty of Lyon in 1601, it became French, then part of the Kingdom of Piedmont-Sardinia in 1760.

AnièresThe shore of Anières hosted a pile dwelling settlement from 3000-2500 BC. During the Roman era, settlers lived on the ridge, later became a necropolis from the 3rd to the 7th century near Chevrens.
The Anières-Bassy pile dwelling dates to the Late Bronze Age (around 900 BC).
In the Middle Ages, Anières was an independent parish under the Saint-Victor priory. The Anières family, vassals of the Faucignys, owned the Bassy castle.
In 1816, Anières joined the Swiss canton of Geneva, and in 1858, it split into Anières and Corsier.

CartignyCartigny is first mentioned in 1220, when the Counts of Geneva granted the priory of Saint-Victor the power to defend Champagne against the House of Savoy.

After struggles with Savoyard rule, the Treaty of Turin in 1754 ended their influence. Cartigny became Swiss in 1815 with Geneva's entry into the Confederation.
The commune adopted the coat of arms of François Bonivard.

Saconnex d'ArveSaconnex includes Saconnex-Dessus and Saconnex-Dessous. It was the birthplace of the Sacconay family in the 12th century.
In Saconnex-Dessus, the Count of Geneva Amédée II built a castle between 1299-1301. After various owners, it became Saconnex-Vandel in 1544. Plundered and burned in 1536 and 1589, the castle was dismantled by Geneva in 1590.
Only ruins remain today, with a single tower standing, crowned in the 19th century with a cast-iron virgin.

SatignyIn the 10th century, Satigny had convents under the Benedictine abbey of Saint-Martin d'Ainay in Lyon.
By 1134, it became part of the Saint-Pierre Cathedral chapter in Geneva. Following the Protestant Reformation in 1536, all property was transferred to the Republic of Geneva.
The Château de Peney, a Catholic stronghold, was destroyed in 1536.
Bourdigny joined Satigny in 1749, and in 1817, Peney was transferred from Russin to Satigny.
