NATURAL FEATURES
River DrizeThe 9 km long Drize River starts in Archamps in France, flows through Bossey and Collonges-sous-Salève, enters Switzerland at Bardonnex, and passes through Geneva before joining the Aire at 390 metres.
From 1934, the river's course was modified, with drainage works from 1941 to 1983. Since 1997, efforts to clean and restore the river have been extended with a cross-border agreement signed in 2003.
You can walk along part of the river in Troinex. Starting from Route de Moillebin, this walk runs along the Drize river to the Chemin d'Evordes. Following the path, you will also pass the Parc de la Drize.

Parc de la DrizeAccessible only on foot, follow the Promenade des Bis-de-Troinex, a footpath that runs alongside the River Drize to reach this park.
Grills available. No parking nor toilets on site. Nearest parking is at the Salle Polyvalente de Troinex on Chemin de Moillebin in Troinex, 750m away.

POINTS OF INTEREST
Menhirs de la Pierre aux Dames Dating back to the fourth millennium BC, the Pierre-aux-Dames menhirs were discovered atop a mound along the road to Bossey. In 1877, excavation of the mound revealed four graves and bones, suggesting it was a burial site marked by the menhirs.
The name Pierre-aux-Dames comes from four engraved silhouettes on the menhir, which are believed to represent fertility goddesses with a funerary role.
In 1872, the Société d’histoire et d’archéologie moved the Pierre-aux-Dames menhir to Parc des Bastions. Weighing over three tons, its relocation required seven horses.
The stone was classified as a historical monument in 1921. In 1942, it was moved again to the courtyard of the Musée d’Art et d’Histoire de Genève for better preservation.
In 1998, despite a proposal from Troinex's mayor, Béatrice Luscher, to return the stone, it remained at the museum for conservation. A fiberglass replica was placed in Troinex village square on September 19, 1998.
