About Corsier:
Corsier’s history stretches back to the 13th century, later coming under the control of the House of Savoy before passing to Geneva’s bourgeoisie. From 1816 to 1858, it formed a single commune with Anières.
The area is notable for its rich archaeological heritage, including prehistoric pile dwellings along the lake and the remains of a Roman villa.
Traditionally rural, Corsier has seen significant growth since the 1960s while retaining much of its village charm. Its parish reflects this layered past, having shifted from Catholicism to Protestantism in 1536, before returning to the Catholic faith following the Savoy restoration.
