THREE GREAT OUTDOOR POOLS TO ENJOY THIS SUMMER IN GENEVA CANTON
The canton’s outdoor swimming pools offer a refreshing alternative to the lake. With facilities ranging from Olympic-sized pools and water slides to paddling pools and sports areas, these pools cater to families, recreational swimmers, and serious athletes alike. Here are three of our favourite outdoor pools in Geneva Canton.
1. Versoix Outdoor Swimming PoolLocated within the Versoix Sports Centre, the communal pool offers a relaxed, family-friendly space surrounded by a large grassy park. The facility includes a 25-metre swimming pool, a smaller 10 x 10 metre pool, a water slide with its own landing pool, and a paddling pool for younger children. Visitors can enjoy extensive lawns for sunbathing, a buvette serving snacks and refreshments, and the nearby sports centre restaurant with a wider food menu. Single-entry prices (2026):

2. Lignon Outdoor Swimming Pool (Vernier)One of the largest outdoor swimming facilities in the canton, Piscine du Lignon is particularly well suited to families and active visitors. The complex features two outdoor pools, including a 50-metre swimming pool, a waterslide, diving boards, as well as a paddling pool for younger children. Beyond the water, visitors will find a large range of leisure facilities including a beach volleyball court, mini-golf, table tennis tables, a multisports pitch, children’s play area, and slacklines. The pool also has a restaurant and summer self-service snack area. Accessibility is enhanced by a pool lift for visitors with reduced mobility. Single-entry prices (2026):

3. Marignac Outdoor Swimming Pool (Lancy)A listed historic pool dating from 1969, Piscine de Marignac combines excellent swimming facilities with extensive leisure areas. During the summer season, visitors have access to an Olympic-sized 50-metre pool, a non-swimmers’ pool, a paddling pool, diving facilities, and a large tube waterslide. Families will appreciate the dedicated children's area with smaller slides, water jets, and the giant mushroom fountain. Outside the pools, the site offers generous lawns, beach soccer and beach volleyball courts, outdoor workout equipment, a restaurant, a shop, and even massage services. The pool is also equipped with an aquatic lift for visitors with disabilities. Single-entry prices (summer 2026):

Olympic pool open Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 07:30–09:30 for experienced swimmers.
