OUR FAVOURITE LESSER-KNOWN BEACHES IN GENEVA CANTON

During periods of hot weather, Geneva's best-known swimming spots can quickly become crowded. Fortunately, the shores of Lake Geneva are dotted with smaller, quieter beaches that offer the perfect place to cool off while enjoying beautiful lakeside scenery. These lesser-known bathing spots are ideal if you're looking for a more relaxed day by the water.

Plage de la Nymphe | Collonge-BellerivePlage de la Nymphe takes its name from a sculpture by Swiss artist Natacha de Senger. Just offshore, the bronze mermaid has sat on her rock since 1966, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid, giving the beach its unique identity.
The beach includes a lawn as well as a wooden deck area and offers facilities such as showers, toilets, drinking water, picnic tables, a children's play area, and accessible paths for visitors with reduced mobility.
Open year-round from 8am to 11pm, entry is free.

Port de Bellerive | Collonge-BelleriveNext to the Bellerive jetty lies a small pebble beach that remains relatively unknown despite its attractive setting. The beach sits beside the historic Manoir Bonvent, an elegant lakeside residence believed to have been built shortly after 1830, adding a touch of history to the peaceful surroundings.
This small swimming spot is ideal for those looking for a quieter alternative to the larger beaches nearby while enjoying beautiful views across Lake Geneva.

Plage de la Pointe-à-la-Bise | Collonge-BelleriveAlthough located within the Pointe-à-la-Bise campsite, this charming beach is open to everyone. The site combines grassy lawns with rocky lakeshore, making it popular with swimmers and families alike.
Facilities include toilets, showers, a snack bar, restaurant, and accessible paths for visitors with reduced mobility.
The beach is open from 1 April to 15 October, between 8am and 10pm, and is free access.

Plage de la Débarcadère | AnièresThis beach has a grassy relaxation area and a rocky lakeshore. Visitors can also enjoy a wooden jetty that is led onto by a short esplanade, making it an attractive spot for sunbathing or taking a refreshing swim. A public toilet is available on site.
The beach is open throughout the year from 8am to 11pm, with free entry.

Creux-de-Genthod | GenthodFor visitors who enjoy swimming as well as watersports, Creux-de-Genthod is an excellent choice. This picturesque lakeside area features both gravel and grassy areas, providing space to relax by the water.
A kiosk operates during the season, while visitors can hire pedal boats, rowing boats, and stand-up paddleboards to explore the lake.
The site is freely accessible 24 hours a day throughout the year, making it a great destination for both early morning swims and summer evenings by the lake.
