There’s something uniquely satisfying about picking your own fruit straight from the field—sun-warmed strawberries, ripe raspberries, or crisp autumn apples. In the Canton of Geneva, self-picking farms (auto-cueillette) offer a simple and seasonal way to reconnect with nature, support local producers, and enjoy the countryside at its most abundant.
From late spring to autumn, a handful of farms open their fields to visitors, with each month bringing a new harvest to discover. It’s also a great activity for families, offering a relaxed way to spend time outdoors while learning more about local agriculture.
What Can You Pick (and When)?Fruit picking in Geneva follows a clear seasonal rhythm:
- Blackberries - from April to October
- Strawberries - from May to July
- Cherries and blackcurrants - from June to August
- Raspberries - from June to October
- Redcurrants and apricots - from July to August
- Plums and green beans - from July to September
- Apples - from July to October
How It Works (Self-Picking)
1) Receive a container from the farmer
You’ll be given a container to collect your fruit or vegetables.
2) Pick your produce
Walk through the fields and choose what you want to harvest.
3) Weigh your container
Once you’re done, your filled container is weighed.
4) Pay by weight

5) Check payment methods beforehandSome farms accept cash only.

Domaine de l’Orcy (Collex-Bossy)Known for its apple orchard and juice, Domaine de l’Orcy welcomes visitors during the harvest season.
Open Wednesday to Sunday, in the morning and again in the afternoon, it specialises in apple picking, along with local products such as eaux-de-vie, honey and jams.
